Yesterday we ventured to the far west of Ireland on a tour to the Cliffs of Moher. Along the way we stopped at St. John's Castle in Limerick City, saw the Limerick Stone Treaty, observed an ancient stone tomb built before the Great Pyramids in the Neolithic period, and finished off at Bunratty Castle. The Ciffs of Moher were exceptionally gorgeous to observe in real life though. They are in the running for the next 7 wonders of the world as well as used in the 4th Harry Potter movie. I can see why people travel from everywhere to see them; they were definitely a highlight of my trip so far and the most beautiful natural scenery I have had the opportunity to see.

Morgan left this morning for the beautiful (and much warmer and drier) Italy! I'm sad she's gone, but the week she spent here with me has been absolutely wonderful. I'm so thankful I had the opportunity to not only explore Europe, but to be able to do so with my sister. It was a packed but exciting week!!
Sounds like your week together was exciting and packed! The Cliffs are magnificent and one of our favorite stops. Ya'll look cold! The Dohlmens are incredible to see in the middle of fields and wonder how long they have been standing. One of the things that blew my mind was that just riding along all of a sudden in the middle of a field there is part of a castle tower standing. What happened always crosses my mind. Can't wait to read how Morgan finds Italy. Love you both, Les
ReplyDeleteThe Cliffs are breathtaking!! I'm so thrilled that you & Morgan got to spend a week together in Ireland. It sounds like you packed alot in! Thanks so much again for being such a gracious hostess. Keep posting pictures. I love all of them...and both of you! Love, Mom
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful pictures of a breathtaking country! Each new place you go seems more charming than the last! You guys look like you are having a blast roaming around together. It was genius for Morgan to come to Ireland as her first stop. I know you are sad to see Morgan go. Love you both, Sha
ReplyDeleteDid you pass through the village of Lisvardoonan? It's near the Cliffs of Moor. When we were there, in September 2010, they had the Match Making Festival. The village was great and we had fish and chips at a small Pub in the middle of town. The waitress said that thousands of young people come from all over Ireland to the Match Making Festival every year.
